I just got done watching Superman: Quest for Peace. It is the final Christopher Reeve movies and the last Superman movie I needed to watch to fill that hole in my watched list.

The movie wasn’t that bad compared to abit of what I had heard about it. The story and idea behind it was good. It even had Jon Cryer of TV sitcom Two and a Half Men. It is interesting seeing actors such as him in their past works or even in a role other than that which we have seen them most in.

The movie did have, however, some aspects which make it my least favorite Superman film. The effects and the fight scenes are less enjoyable as the previous movies, where you can guess they had a lower budget for this film. There is one or two loop-holes in the plot which distract from the film. There is a scene which replicates the Superman-Lois flying over the city scene from the first movie, which was a great homage to that scene from the first movie, but the events of that scene do not seem to be acknowledged in the rest of the film. Where I may have misinterpreted that scene, I feel like something significant happened there and the characters act like it didn’t happen.

Aside from those things, it is still a good movie with classic characters like Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane and the enjoyable Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor.  Christopher Reeve has always been possibly my favourite Superman and always does a great Clark Kent. His Clark is how I see Clark, the somewhat clumsy mild-mannered reporter. I did enjoy the movie series as a whole and I would definitely recommend them to any Superman fan that hasn’t seen them yet.
