Tomorrow starts an amazing trip for me and my dad. We are taking a trip all the way to Melbourne to go to Supanova. I will be seeing some great people including Brian Bendis who created Ultimate Spider-man(a comic book series I have been following for a long time now), Scott Kurtz of PvPonline(a webcomic I have been following for a long time now) and his partner in crime Kris Straub who does Blamimations with Kurtz, Summer Glau of the awesome Firefly TV show who I missed when she was in Sydney last and the universe is giving me a chance to meet her now, Wil Wheaton of Stand By Me and Star Trek: TNG who it should be fun to meet.

We rented a number of movies for the weekend should we come to an oppertunity to watch a movie or two. These include Blazing Saddles (My dad’s reccomendation), John Carpenter’s The Thing which I wanted to watch before I watched the new one, Lethal Weapon and Fanboys.

I also rented and watched Take Me Home Tonight which is a good takeback to the 80’s and stars Topher Grace and Anna Faris. That film was good, written well and had some good acting from Topher Grace, I really enjoyed following what his character was doing in the film and I found it to be a good role for Faris aswell, taking her away from the more blonde rom-com roles such as her character in What’s Your Number?. I really enjoyed her character in this film.

There is a new TV show that came out late last year called ‘New Girl‘. Here is why I think the show should be called ‘Jess’.

• The main character’s name is Jess.
• The show revolves around her.
• Give it at most a year. She won’t be new anymore. They will have to change the name to ‘Girl who moved in ages ago knows everybody and has a good Rapport with everyone here’.
• Might as well have called ‘Big Bang Theory‘ ‘New Girl’ when that first started. It just seems like such an easy title for the scenario.

Now I do like the show for the most part. I do have my pros and my cons(another blog for another time, quite possibly) and I could just be caring way too much about what a show is called but I feel a good name that suits the show adds to the show in a good way and there are TV shows which have a history of changing name to just the name of the main character (See 'Ellen', previously 'These Friends of Mine' or 'Seinfeld' which was 'The Seinfeld Chronicles' for the pilot). 'Fraiser' and 'Joey' used this naming system when goinng off for their respective spin-off shows. So I don't think it would be a crazy idea for it to be changed.

Anyway, I'm off to watch a movie now. Probably '21 Jump Street'. Although I need to get on that 'Hunger Games' train. Everyone is talking about this.

You ever have someone point something out and then everytime said thing happens, you notice it? Well thats what this chick does. On youtube there is this one girl Nat who makes videos about everyday things from awkward momens to funny things people do and she talks about it with comedic effect. She usually plays out situations in her videos with her playing the characters. Her latest video is about when people say “How have you not seen this/heard this/had this??”. I have been thinking about for fun trying and keep a schedule on posting blogs about stuff. I used to do all sorts of things(reviews, posts about other people’s work, like webcomics, blogs and videos and stuff, and general posts). So, maybe I will have something to tell people “Hey, read this at somepoint…”. It would probably be either Monday(To give something good to start the week off on) or Friday(Something to end the week on).
